A new trouble for fitness legend Richard Simmons as he has been fighting tabloids over stories that claimed he has transitioned from male to female but now the court is ordering him to pay up big.

The amount of pay is more than $100,000. Richard sued them after the tabloids reported that he was transgender. Now, the fitness legend must pay all of their legal bills.

After decades of sweating with the oldies, the legend Richard Simmons has a new challenge in court. A judge ruling Simmons must pay “The National Enquirer” and radar online $130,000 for legal fees after Simmons sued them for libel and invasion of privacy. Simmons has alleged the publications falsely reported that he has undergone shocking sex surgery to change from man to women.

His lawsuit was thrown out six months ago. Richard Simmons attorney, Neville Johnson said, “They have hyped this into a whole other story with all these details that are simply wrong”.

The judge saying that falsely reporting that the person is transgender does not necessarily have a natural tendency to hurt their reputations. The reporting based in part of videos, photographs and an interview with his former assistant, Simmons’ lawyer calls an unreliable source who was blackmailing Simmons.

American Media, the parent company of the Enquirer and radar online saying, “We are very pleased with the decision to award our legal in response to Mr. Richard Simmons’ lawsuit, but most importantly we appreciate that the judge recognized, and the court’s judgement underscores, it is not defamatory to say that someone is transgender.”

Richard Simmons is already appealing the ruling and his attorney telling, “Mr. Simmons expects it will be the National Enquirer paying him at the end given a massive lie it fabricated. This case is far from over.”
