SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk taking one step towards visiting mars. CEO promises excitement for those who survive the trip but admits there is a “good chance you will die”.

During the surprise question and answer at South by Southwest, the billionaire said SpaceX is on track to send a rocket to the Red Planet. SpaceX’s BFR rocket framework is relied upon to have abilities for interplanetary travel and be completely reusable. But Musk joked about potentially missing the timeline, he said, “Although sometimes, my timelines are a little, you know…,”.

Musk was asked what the first humans to travel to Mars will experience on the red planet. Elon Musk said, “It’s a difficult, dangerous, excitement and Good change you will die and excitements for those who survived. That kind of thing”.

Musk was also asked about what the first human colony’s government on Mars might look like. He says it’ll most likely be some form of direct democracy.

Musk wants to send a cargo mission to Mars in 2022. The privately-funded venture was first announced in September 2017. SpaceX CEO hoping if the BFR launches successfully then others will believe Mars travel is possible.

Musk said, “According to me, once we build it we’ll have a point of proof something that other companies and countries can go and do”.
