Tata Motors has revealed its intentions of launching its upcoming Tata Tigor on March 29 with prices expected to start from Rs. 5.5 lakh.
Tata has been taking it slow to reveal the features of Tigor. It first released the sketches of the car in February 2017 and now the company has revealed the specifications of Tigor as well as the launch date – March 29.
Tigor is based on “Kite 5 Concept” and is being seen by Tata as a game changer in its segment, with an unique combination of style and substance. The new Tigor will compete Maruti Suzuki Dzire and others from the segment.
Tigor is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine generating 85PS of power and 114Nm of torque while the 1.05-litre diesel engine generates 70PS power and 140Nm of torque. The transmission system is same as the Tiago hatchback Five-speed manual transmission.
The car will be available in two driving mode same as the Tiago Eco and City. Further, Company says that the City mode will offer a great driving experience and good fuel efficiency, while the Eco mode will optimize engine performance for better fuel efficiency.
After Tiago and Hexa, Tigor also gets the Impact design of Tata Motors. But Tigor has some modification in the exterior design like dual-tone front bumper, company’s signature grille design with chrome garnishing which extends all the way into crystal-like smoked projector headlamps. The car also gets LED taillights and LED stop lamp strip.
The interior of the Tigor gets eight speakers Harman-engineered music system with a 5-inch infotainment system with additional functions like video playback compatibility, voice command recognition, SMS readout functionality and acts as a display for the reverse camera. The Tigor also gets automatic climate control, an additional 12V charging point for rear passengers and rear armrest with cupholders.
